Welcome to our symposium: November 16th 2024
In his encyclical Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis invites us to go to the periphery. Certain groups of patients are not always receiving the right care.
Let us be inspired by the Holy Father Damiaan De Veuster, who was fully committed to leprosy patients in Molokai. Let us ask him to bless our work of caring for people at the edges.

Two different locations
Morning session: Irish College Leuven
Address: Janseniusstraat 1, 3000 Leuven
- 8.00 am: registration of participants
- 8.30 am – 1.20 pm: conferences and infomarket
In the heart of the historic university town Leuven (Belgium), this heritage campus provides a unique setting for our 2024 conference.
There is no parking facility at Irish College. Participants are asked to use public parking spaces in town.

Afternoon session: St Anthony’s Chapel with Damian Crypt
Address: Pater Damiaanplein, 3000 Leuven
- 2.20 – 5.00 pm: conferences and infomarket
- 5.00 pm: Opportunity to visit Damian crypt with Eucharistic adoration
- 5:45 pm: Eucharist presided by Archbishop Luc Terlinden
The afternoon programme takes place in St Anthony’s Chapel where also the Damian Crypt is. This is accessible within walking distance (150 metres) from the Irish College: you only need to cross Damian Square.
