‘We appeal to MPs to take decisive steps aimed at quick liquidation of the clinic ‘Abotak’, punishing those guilty of assisting in abortion, as well as breaking up a criminal group, which is undoubtedly the organization Abortion Dream Team’ – the appeal read out in the Seym on the occasion of the National Day of Life, was signed by 40 pro-life organizations.

On the occasion of the National Day of Life in the Seym there was a conference ‘Yes to life – in defence of women’ organized by the Parliamentary Team for Life and Family and the Coalition for Life and Family. This year’s conference was devoted not only to the legal aspects of life protection, but above all to showing the negative effects of abortion on women’s health. It was attended by people who deal with pro-life activities on a daily basis, but also gynaecologists and psychiatrists.

Prof. Bogdan Chazan postulated that ‘we should end political correctness, definitely, courageously reject pro-abortion pressure’. In turn, Artur Mnich, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, sketched a picture of the post-abortion syndrome, also pointing to the impact of abortion on the psyche and body of a woman. Prof. Paweł Mierzejewski pointed out that in the context of the negative impact of abortion on the psyche of a woman, the so-called psychiatric premise, as an indication for abortion, is completely unjustified.

In an interview with Opoka, Magdalena Korzekwa-Kaliszuk from the Proelio Group Foundation emphasized that it is very important and symbolic that a voice “for life” can be heard from the building of the Polish Sejm.

“During the conference, it was resounded how horrible the effects of abortion are on women’s physical and mental health,” m.in gynaecologists and psychiatrists spoke on this subject. Enough of hiding the fact that there is no post-abortion syndrome, that women suffer after abortion, that it is cruel not only for the child but also for the woman. This resonated in scientific research and facts with which it is impossible to argue,” said Magdalena Korzekwa-Kaliszuk.

During the conference, the appeal “Stop the unpunished violation of the right to life” was read out. The appeal was signed by 40 organizations, m.in. the National March of Life, the March of the Sanctity of Life, the Association of Large Families of Warsaw and Mazovia, the Proelio Group Foundation, as well as MPs and medical circles.

The signatories reminded that the National Day of Life should be an occasion to ‘reflect on the responsibility of state authorities, society and public opinion for the protection and building respect for human life […]’.

They pointed to the blatant violation of constitutional law and the impunity of individuals and groups openly calling for and breaking the law.

“A glaring example of such behavior is the activity of activists of the Abortion Deam Team organization, who ostentatiously disregard the law and advertise their abortion services. Counting on impunity, they resort to provocation, which is the opening of an illegal abortion clinic ‘Abotak’ in the immediate vicinity of the Seym’.

“Such an audacious violation of the law cannot be allowed! Therefore, we appeal to MPs to take decisive steps aimed at the quick liquidation of the clinic ‘Abotak’, punishing those guilty of aiding in abortion, as well as breaking up the criminal group, which is undoubtedly the organization Abortion Dream Team’ – we read in the appeal.

Pro-life activists emphasized that the criminal activity of people openly calling for breaking the law protecting life, is connected with ‘a sense of impunity which is given by the so-called guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the General Prosecutor, allowing this type of behaviour’.

“Therefore, we appeal again to the President of the Republic of Poland to intervene and use his prerogatives in order to repeal these unconstitutional and unlawful regulations, undermining both the right to life of the conceived child and the right of a woman to the protection of motherhood” – we read.

Pro-life activists also called on politicians to “take decisive action aimed at restoring the rule of law, and all those for whom the right to life is a fundamental value to engage in various forms of opposition and protest.”
