Years ago, pagans sacrificed children to their cruel gods. Today, at the Democratic Party Convention, a mobile abortion clinic has been set up where unborn children are sacrificed free of charge. These abortions are carried out by a well-known abortion company, which has been indirectly involved in the convention speeches. And these sacrifices are made for the sake of a cruel ideology, or for the deceptive comfort and happiness that they are said to provide.

And at this convention, the most pro-abortion convention ever held, abortion is justified by the top leaders of the party because the child who is killed would be merely a part of the mother’s body, who would have the right to dispose of her own body. As we will see, this is medically false, apart from what we can understand by simple common sense.

Let us begin with a text from the Holy Scriptures which tells us of similar crimes from ancient times: “You hated the inhabitants of your holy land who practiced detestable works of magic and unholy rituals, and were cruel murderers of their own children (…)” (Wisdom 12:3-5). And although God hated these crimes, He nevertheless gave them the opportunity to do penance and repent: “But by chastening them little by little, you gave them room for repentance, not being unaware (…) that their minds would never change” (Wisdom 12:10).

And if the God in whom Justice predominated in the Old Testament gave the guilty the opportunity to show mercy, how much more will the God in whom Mercy predominates, beginning with Christ, prevent women who have committed this terrible evil from falling into despair, leaving open the holy door of forgiveness to those who are sincerely repentant. Because in abortion there are two victims: the murdered child (physical victim) and the mother who consents (spiritual victim). Because if the unborn child goes to Heaven (sooner or later), the guilty mother, on the other hand, flirts with hell if she does not repent. The mother is often also a psychological victim: the trauma that many who have had an abortion and denied the natural instinct of motherhood carry with them.

The leaders who propagate the cruel pro-abortion crusade said at the Convention that the pregnant woman has the right to dispose of her own body, assuming that the fetus is simply another part of the mother’s organism. But the conceived child already has a biological card, a DNA, distinct from that of the pregnant mother and is therefore not part of the pregnant woman’s body. Furthermore, it is known that the pregnant woman’s organism secretes a hormonal substance that prevents or avoids the conceived fetus from triggering in the mother’s body the biological response to a foreign body. It is therefore a question of the fact that this is a body distinct from that of the pregnant woman.

And if it is a different being with human DNA, ending its life is not like pulling out a tooth, but rather it is like killing a different human being. A happy comparison warns us that, for example, a taxi driver does not have the right to kill a traveler even if he is staying in the taxi that he owns. In the same way, the mother who houses a different human being in her womb does not have the right to kill him: She cannot kill the tenant. The mother, on the contrary, by natural morality is constituted as the guardian of her baby and is asked to welcome him with that love with which God has endowed the mother who does not reject her beautiful and endearing condition.

It is sad that the Democratic Party, which is supposed to defend the fate of the most disadvantaged, is the standard-bearer of the genocide of the weakest, most innocent and defenseless: unborn children. Only a diabolical logic can be behind this unfortunate drift. This malignant logic could have made some Catholics complicit in such a serious crime, not excepting some Catholic hierarchy that passed through the convention without condemning abortion.

And if we, with good will, defend the causes of the weakest, doing them justice, who is weaker, more innocent and more defenseless than unborn children? Who deserves justice more?
