Following the American elections win by Mr Donald Trump as the 47th president of the United States of America and the disbelief, anger, rage, brouhaha which has accompanied this by women and perhaps will not subside for the duration of his tenure as President, many prophetic utterances have emerged, and of course the doom overshadowing all of America and the world, one unusual group which caught my attention seems to me to be so ludicrous that the media even bothered to run with it.
Did the media run out of their own mendacious stories and need to resort to the ludicrous? Did the rage of the feminists, woke, and leftist movements need a further group to share their uproar over the result?
Over various sites I came across a short writing, (I’m loathe to call it article) about a 4B movement which began in South Korea in the mid to late 2019. It’s a radical feminist movement “A woman is not a baby making machine” which left me bemused, stunned, horrified, terrified, and other adjectives I cannot remember.
This 4B movement is made up of very radical feminists whose idea is to eschew men altogether.
This movement began in South Korea but has quietly flown under the radar gathering a following. It’s a movement so anti male that if it were to gather in the millions it would damage not only women but humanity. It would change the nature of things. Perhaps we could even say make the unnatural, natural.
The intent of this group is a vow to have nothing to do with men, that is, women have nothing to do with men at all. One even said that if walking in aisle in supermarket she would move from that aisle not to go near that male.
This appears to be an on-line movement where online meetings are held to discuss the activities of the movement itself and of course recruitment. “To me it’s a man and I need to stay away” (said a speaker) Others within the group want to denounce religion because religion encourages marriage and children. Indeed, women have been urging women to join the group and become a force
Whilst this movement has moved and has gathered momentum globally, with chapters in major cities including Australia it still has not made itself felt. “Women are not baby making machines” appears to be the mantra and these are rejecting the expectations of society that women are useful only for motherhood, marriage, children, heterosexual relationships. This movement is governed by the principles “ No dating, No marriage. No sex. No childbirth. The 4 “nos” By doing this the 4B movement redefines femininity and redefines their lives outside of the norm or what has been the norm of humanity since time began.
In the aftermath of the election win by Mr Trump this movement seems to have experienced a surge of interest especially in USA. Some very distraught voting females have said that they will have nothing more to do with males. Nothing? For the next for four years, during Trump presidency? I don’t think I’ll hold my breath.
Technology appears to underpin the South Korean initiative and economic transformation and especially for young women whose economic disparity has caused and will cause challenges for present and future female generations.
New schemes are thought to be needed to challenge existing patriarchy with each new scheme making a dent but not any real difference. The young South Korean women formed into feminists and from this the 4B slowly emerged. Disenchantment, anger, fear, always begin changes whether for good or otherwise. This movement was considered during a time of destabilization, and ill treatment, unfair, unjust treatment of young women, and from this on-line platform founded a place where followers met to talk about, share experiences and belief and could comment.
An on-line platform where frustrated young women could share their feelings and organize protests. On line communities formed and encouraged others into ideas which at time of destabilization seem to be the answer. So too seems to be the response of the 4B movement. Disenchantment with what was/is perceived as anti-woman attitudes and injustices and so from this the NOs began.
During time of confusion and disenchantment communities such as 4B movement, Me Too movement, BLM movement, radical movements who know that they will be heard because of the chaos which enmeshes others in society. During a time when transition is in progress these groups enmesh themselves where damage insinuation into society occurs without much notice being paid to it. These movements of disenchantment and real feminine unhappiness and sense of being treated as lesser beings are unstable, and whilst their grievances maybe real their confusion causes nothing but more confusion, more disparagement, more demeaning which of course will lead to widespread revolt by women themselves and those others they gather around their beliefs. Probably one would say, the response of the young who followed, chanted, protested against Mr Trump in favour of Kamala Harris and when the outcome was not to their liking the rage was and is visible and palpable.
Whilst I do understand the reasons behind these feelings and sentiments and anger which women believed would be resolved by a female president (Kamala Harris) who campaigned solely on the abortion issue and seemed to pitch her campaign to the young and those of childbearing age population and not thinking about the whole needs of American society, whose needs are more immediate for them. Changes which would lighten their day to day living burdens. Rents, mortgages, groceries, schools, utilities, transport and maybe even some treats. The things which matter to family and human life rather than a radical voice calling to other radical feminists to kill more and more in utero babies which ensured their control and dominance. Those protestors who have wanted freedom to abortion on demand without thinking that their demand rang in the ears only of those likeminded but superficially heard by those with family and day to day needs. Better life for their families and not the knowledge that there is available to them facilities to kill unwanted babies.
I have a really uneasy feeling about this emerging 4B movement that appears to have its deepest roots in hell. No dating, no marriage, no intimacy, no children and dare I say it? it’s another movement against “life” and again this kind of movement is being fueled by rabid feminists and insinuates itself in society in a time of chaos. This time, using the loss of the election by Ms Harris to Mr Trump to garner a suspected meteoric rise. This group openly states that it is totally anti male, boycotting them as a “punishment” for being male. Boycotting them with total rejection of them, no sex, children, intimacies, interaction, not to even make eye contact with them because even making eye contact with them initiates a connection. It has also been written that some women have chosen this life long before the movement came into being and the reason for this choice was violence against women, generational violence, and it determined that it’s safer to live without any connection or intimacy with males.
“When men are not getting dates, and they’re not having sex and they’re not having babies (men don’t have babies-they can’t) and they’re not getting married- this shakes the structure” said a spokesperson for an American 4B group. She believes that then the men will listen. For some this is a protest movement, however, others will join for the safety and support of women especially as violence against women has been on the increase with murders of women, mothers, children, sadly reported daily.
Presently there are chapters of this 4B movement in South Korea, United States of America, United Kingdom, Uganda, Australia, and others who are of the same belief but are not connected officially to the group but there now appears, in the background, not whispers but loud calls for women to form such groups and join this movement as a protest against the President elect Mr Donald Trump and in support of those who want to have total control over their own bodies.
Violence, unfairness, injustice, seems to be underpinning this movement. Violence against female family members, wives, partners, girlfriends, and the reported exponential increase in domestic violence and murder of women and children, and some within the group 4B group say that women themselves are part of the problem because they continue to remain in the midst of violence.
“If we continue to have babies then we can’t keep crying tomorrow” (spokesperson)
“No” to religion is a strict rule to be adhered to because it’s believed that religions encourage, marriage, children, and where male children already exist in the life of a member in of the group, to teach them the right way, to do better. (at least they don’t suggest abandoning them) When asked why such a movement is needed the response is physical and sexual violence against women Further cited, disparities in the workplaces.
Cited also the unjust division of work and home care, and the piése de résistance, the overturning of Roe v Wade which removed from women right over their own body. Citing other injustices, girl trafficking, female child marriage still legal in some countries, enforced marriage, in large parts of the world. The system we live in does not work so a group like this (according to them) is the measure of the length that women feel the need to go to. Total avoidance of males in their life. Total abstinence. Personally, my thought is “good luck with that”. It’s written in the design of the human being to be attracted to the other.
As I thought about this, the legend/myth of Amazonian tribe of women came to mind. A tribe of women warriors and hunters, who were known for their physical abilities, strength in combat (we remember the TV series Wonder Woman of years ago-Linda Carter actress) these women were said to be mighty warriors who had rebelled against male dominated society (does this ring bells?) These warrior women living on an island without males, and learning traits of strength, hunting, warriors and if any of the women wanted children, they mated with males who lived on an all-male island and when child born, female child remained with the mother but if male child he either went to the father’s tribe or thrown into the sea. This 4B groups resonates with Amazonian (male dominated society?)
When I started writing about this group I have to admit I did so with some cynicism, arrogance, mockery, some insouciance, but as I continued and read more about what, why and how the group began I could see the why and I began to feel uneasy even with my own thoughts, and wondered if I have been so involved in women suffering from post-abortion grief that I forgot or failed to see that women and children do suffer enormously in other ways, like violence in their own home, walking with children, sitting in parks. Places where they should have been safe.
Nightly I watch news items about another woman (mother, partner, wife) murdered, stabbed multiple times by someone who was supposed to love her. We see the family and the horror they endure having to identify that loved one. We are shown graphic scenes of women beaten to almost an inch of their lives. We see children murdered by strangers and parents (mostly) and wonder how and where our society has developed such hatred. Why has it become necessary to form groups like 4B to protest against treatment of women. Protest to a degree the males are to be excluded from their life.
It has occurred to me that what the feminists set out to do in the first place was not so bad. Protect women and children from violence committed by known ones. However, as with all things it became skewed. It evolved into the very thing that began their needed to do. Feminist groups aligned themselves with other violent groups and do the same they are supposed to fight. Some more wounded than others took over leaderships and ramped up the anger higher and higher until a time, like the Amazonian, 4B movements, turned completely against men and felt safe only in their own company. Those with the biggest rage then turned on children and rejected them and no longer wanted to be a party to their very being and when conceived refused to turn their hearts and minds towards their child until like the Amazonians of old if child wanted it was safe if unwanted it was thrown into the sea to drown. In our day, the sea is one of blood. Drowning in blood, dismembered. Murdered through legal means, abortion.
I don’t wish to end this on such a note, but I want to ask the question of anyone who reaches this level of reading it. What can we together do to be rid of that demon which hates both men and women and children. What can we do to stop violence against women because they are the weaker ones.? What can we do so that every time we hear news of the day the first news story or breaking news is that another woman has been “stabbed 32 times by her husband”. What can we, as a divinely created movement, do to bring honour back to men and women who are bearers of life continuing the work begun by God himself and entrusted to the human being to continue. What can we do to help her want to carry the future in her body and not hear the words “my body my choice” What can we do to help her get fair recompense for work done. Just and fair recompense as her male counterparts. What can we do together.
Until we can find some answers, our understanding and beliefs and helps needed, until we honour woman again, and not make her and child the scapegoats of a society heading towards the primitive, nothing will change and we will hear more of the same stories, “this morning the body of a young woman and her baby were found in house in ….suburb” or maybe “don’t even look towards a male it might start a connection with him.” This written in our nature.
