Glory to Jesus Christ!
On March 24th 2024 took place a shared meeting of Community of the Catholic Doctors in the Parish of the Saint Great Martyr Yuriy (George) (Vasylkiv, Kyiv region). In this meeting participated doctors from Vasylkiv, Fastiv and Brovary, Kyiv region.
Considered as priority task and prospect was the development of the Kyiv Department of Ukrainian Association of Catholic Doctors.
In particular were highlighted the main our vectors:
- Deepen our own spiritual life;
- Recognize and implement principles of the Christian anthropology in daily medical practice;
- Educate and promote compassion and an empathic attitude for ourselves, towards patients, colleagues.
A wonderful example is the parable about Good Samaritan that concerns “a man”, any man, the first comer. He is the neighbor, because he is a man. And he claims some of our heart.
Also highlighted was the importance of respect for the dignity of human life from moment of the conception to natural death, and especially:
- Problem of the respect to human life from the moment of conception.
- The kind attitude to patients with “incurable” diseases, elderly people, the importance of the palliative care, the meaning of suffering.
- Sexuality of the person (reproductive health, the importance of the Christian families).
Also discussed were the further development of the Kyiv Department of Ukrainian Catholic Medical Association, international cooperation, creating the network relationships and communication.
