CMA Members Join Tens of Thousands at March for Life

January 24, 2025

Members of the Catholic Medical Association (CMA) of the USA will join tens of thousands in Washington D.C. today for the 52nd National March for Life. CMA remains steadfast in its commitment to the sanctity of life, aligning with the 2025 March for Life theme, “Life: Why We March.”

“The March for Life serves as a vital platform for CMA and the broader medical community to advocate for the protection of unborn lives and the promotion of authentic women’s health care,” said Executive Director Mario R. Dickerson, M.T.S. “By participating in this event, our members collectively and courageously emphasize the importance of life-affirming practices and policies, reinforcing Catholic health care’s commitment to uphold the dignity of every human life.”

The National March for Life is the largest annual human rights demonstration and celebration of life in the country that has taken place since 1973. This year, speakers will include Dr. Catherine Wheeler, a former abortionist turned pro-life advocate and Josiah Presley, an abortion survivor. Also just announced, President Donald Trump will speak to the marchers via video and Vice President JD Vance will speak in person at the March.

“CMA physicians will always defend the life of preborn infants who cannot speak for themselves,” said CMA President Michelle Stanford, M.D. “As physicians, we have an obligation to promote the betterment of every human life.”

CMA’s D.C. Guild is coordinating the CMA members participation in what guild members are calling an honor “to join our colleagues to March in an effort to promote protections for human life and dignity,” said Kathleen Paravano, RDMS, the D.C. Guild Board Treasurer. “We march to protect and respect life from its very beginning to its natural end, including all the disabled and terminal.
